Gautam Thakar – President
Chief Executive Officer and President, LivingSocial

Gautam is the CEO of LivingSocial, in charge of overall operations and strategy as well as managing the company’s growth as a consumer brand and as a marketing partner for merchants. Prior to joining LivingSocial, he held various executive leadership roles at eBay, most recently as General Manager of eBay’s Advertising business and CEO of Gautam started his career in brand management working throughout Asia with Procter & Gamble. He graduated from Sydenham College in Mumbai, India with a bachelor’s degree in Commerce, and received his MBA in Marketing and Finance from the Indian Institute of Management Lucknow.

Paul Guyardo – Director

Paul is the Chief Commercial Officer at Discovery Communications. He also serves on the National Advisory Council for Northwestern University and on Nutrisystem’s Board of Directors, and is an executive mentor for the New York and New Jersey All-Stars Project. Paul has previously held executive positions at DIRECTV, Kmart Corporation (now Sears Holding Company) and HSN (formerly Home Shopping Network). He began his career in advertising and brand management holding positions at Johnson & Johnson, Saatchi & Saatchi and Tracy-Locke/BBDO working on major brands including Tide, Ivory, Taco Bell and LAY’S Potato Chips. Paul earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Northwestern University.

Peter Krawiec – Director
Vice President of World Wide Corporate Development, Amazon

Peter leads Amazon’s Worldwide Corporate Development activities, including acquisitions, investments, and partnerships. He began his career as an investment banker in JP Morgan’s mergers and acquisitions practice. Peter then spent five years as a venture capitalist at the Mid-Atlantic Venture Funds in Reston, Va. He earned his bachelor’s degree in Economics with honors from Trinity College and his MBA at Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management, where he was an Austin Scholar.

Betsey Nelson – Director

Elizabeth (Betsey) is an independent director and advisor to high growth technology companies. She also currently serves on the boards of Nokia, Pandora Media, and Zendesk, as well as several private companies. Her prior board service includes, CNET Networks, Good Technology, SuccessFactors, and Autodesk. Prior to her board work, Betsey served as EVP and CFO of Macromedia, and she held various positions in international finance and corporate development at HP. Betsey received her bachelor’s degree from Georgetown University and her MBA in Finance from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.

Jay Mandelbaum – Director

Jay is an independent advisor, investor, and board member for private growth companies focusing on financial services, mobile commerce, and digital marketing. Earlier in his career, he was an Executive Vice President on the Operating Committee at J.P.Morgan Chase & Co. Jay also served as CEO of Smith Barney’s Private Client Division as well as a Vice Chairman of Salomon Smith Barney and member of Citigroup’s Management Committee. He received his bachelor’s degree from the Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs at Princeton University and his MBA from Harvard Business School.

Don Rainey – Director

Don is a Partner at Grotech Ventures, focused on early-stage information technology companies based in the DC area. He also presently sits on the boards at Clarabridge, Booker, HelloWallet, Personal, SnappCloud, and Zenoss. Prior to his career in venture capital, Don served as President at Attitude Network, managed channel distribution and brand marketing for IBM, and served as COO of DaVinci Systems. He received his bachelor’s degree from James Madison University and his master’s degree in Bioscience Management from George Mason University.

Tige Savage – Director
Managing Partner, Revolution Ventures

Tige is the co-founder of Revolution LLC and managing partner at Revolution Ventures. In his prior role, he was Vice President of Time Warner Ventures, Chief of Staff to Riggs Bank Chairman and CEO, Joe Allbritton, and Co-founder of Riggs Captial Partners. Tige has been an early investor in and served on the boards of companies including Booker, Framebridge, HelloWallet, Homesnap, OrderUp, Revolution Money, and Zipcar, among others. He received his bachelor’s degree from James Madison University and his MBA with highest distinction from the University of Michigan’s Ross School of Business.

Alex Ceballos – Observer

Alex is a director on Amazon’s worldwide corporate development team and is responsible for acquisition, investments, and partnerships in the US, Europe, and India. Prior to this role, he led Amazon’s Global Credit team where Alex oversaw all Amazon branded credit products worldwide. Before joining Amazon, he worked as an investment banker at J.P. Morgan and in operations management at Kraft Foods. Alex graduated with highest distinction from the United States Military Academy at West Point and earned his MBA from Harvard Business School.

Jeremy Liew – Observer

Jeremy is a Partner at Lightspeed Venture Partners. Previously, he held several senior positions at AOL, including SVP of Corporate Development, Chief of Staff to the CEO, and GM of Netscape.
